A Simple Idea

Obviously, the primary definition of epic is not what we are talking about here (although if you wish to write an incredible literary world changing poem, by all means, be my guest).

The idea is simple: In James 4:13-17 God reminds us of how fast our lives will pass on this earth. In Matthew 25:1-13 Jesus tells us that we do not know when Christ will call us home, so be ready always.

So, we can let this life go by and fill it full of temporary pleasures and get bogged down with stress and woulda's and shoulda's, or we can make a decision. A decision to live an epic life here on heart that prepares us for our eternal life with God.

A Simple Decision

A simple decision: I am going to change my perspective on life and try my hardest to make daily decisions to live an epic life. This is not going to be easy. There will be times when life will hand me a bag of lemons and I want to chunk it at someone's face instead of making sweet lemonade, but that is not what Christians are called to do.

I don't want a life filled with regret. So, I am going to make the decision to press forward... with a smile (even when it hurts). This is not a fake, I am not going to deal with my problems kind of attitude, but a decision to choose to live and view my life as this amazing gift from God and to cherish the moments.  I won't see my husband as just this guy I married, but I choose to see him as MY prince charming.  My children are not just noisy rugrats, but arrows in my hand (Psalm 127:4-5).

Every day is a gift, but it is only epic if you choose for it to be so.

So grab your shades & get ready to choose epic.
