How To Make Dalgona Coffee

During the world-wide quarantine brought on by COVID-19, a new and exotic looking coffee drink has taken social media by storm. It is called Dalgona Coffee and hails from South Korea.

According to Wikipedia, “The viral trend of sharing recipes and photos of the do-it-yourself (DIY) coffee first gained prominence during the social distancing orders in South Korea, and for that reason, it is dubbed the ‘quarantine drink’ or ‘quarantine coffee’”.

So, how do you make this stuff? It is really pretty simple and requires four ingredients: Instant Coffee (ewe), sugar, hot water, and milk.

You begin by adding equal parts instant coffee, sugar, and hot water, and mixing them until the mixture becomes light and fluffy. This will take 3-5 minutes depending on how much you are making.

Then add milk (cold or hot) to a glass. about as much milk as you have “coffee.” Then pour the mixture on top, garnish if desired, and serve.
